Whatever It Takes

When it comes to serving people, Chardo is ready to do whatever it takes as Florida's District 7 Congressional Representative. There is nothing he won't do to advance the objectives of those that are disadvantaged, persecuted, under paid, unrepresented, or unheard. In order to right our ship, Chardo is focused on the one thing that he knows for sure works in resolving conflict, hatred, division, and distrust; he will be the opposite of it. “If we change us, we can change the world.”

The first step in taking back our government is having candidates bold enough to run without corporate money. The second step is having voters courageous enough to vote for them.

In the wealthiest nation in the world, we should all have the things we need to thrive.

Universal Healthcare for All – No citizen should have to worry about whether they can afford medical care or pay their household bills. We need a universal system that provides care regardless of any pre-existing condition.
End Mass incarceration – It is our duty to end the privatization of our prison system.
Raising the Minimum Wage – Working over 40 hours a week and still not earning enough to provide for your family is unacceptable. Workers deserve to earn a livable wage. Period.

Florida needs a champion for the people

Chardo Richardson has devoted much of his life protecting and serving others. As a young boy growing up in Mississippi, he found himself always standing up for those who were bullied or less fortunate. The passion for serving his fellow brothers and sisters carried over into his adult life when he joined the United States Air Force. Chardo proudly served nearly 12 years as an Airman. It was during these times he witnessed oppression and the daily struggle for the average person to live day to day in many other countries.

These remarkable moments compelled Chardo to attend law school where he earned his law degree. He immersed himself into the community and began working with incarcerated felons and juveniles. The nationwide epidemic of mass incarceration was plain to see and Chardo has made it a personal endeavor to eliminate this injustice and create reform. Chardo's innate sense for human compassion and equality led him to the Central Florida Chapter of the ACLU. Chardo knew this was one more way he could serve people and protect the civil rights and liberties of those he lived and worked with. Holding back his passion for people and life is impossible for Chardo and that came through when he would attend the ACLU meetings.

He was quickly nominated for the role as the chapter President and went straight to work. During the 2016 Election, Chardo began establishing volunteer groups within the Central Florida ACLU with the focus on specific civil rights and liberties violations. He collaborated with many organizations throughout Florida, all of whom held one common goal: To protect the rights of the citizens of Florida. Chardo witnessed many successes while he held the position of president. He established coalitions that fought to protect civil rights, formed the next generation of ACLU leaders and led the charge for equality in Central Florida. When he was approached to run for the district 7 seat, it was not easy to say goodbye to the Central Florida chapter, but it was clear that the potential to create long lasting change for his community was not a far stretch. Chardo wants change for his Florida neighbors and he wants this to be a team effort.

Listening to the concerns of the people is important to him and he believes that working together to create laws for the people is the right approach. Chardo strongly believes in providing citizens with a universal healthcare plan, a working livable wage, access to an affordable education and criminal justice reform are major issues that he is ready to undertake. As your future Florida District 7 Representative, Chardo wholeheartedly feels there is no room for corporate greed and he, along with other Justice Democrat candidates, refuse to accept corporate dollars for his campaign. Chardo's campaign is a people's campaign and is funded solely by the people. When you support Chardo, you are supporting the growth and success of Central Florida. Together, we will do whatever it takes to give people a voice, provide quality of life, protect rights and prosper.

What We Can Achieve Together

Let's
End Corruption
More

Super PACs should be banned, private donations to politicians and campaigns should be banned, and a clean public financing system should be implemented to end the takeover of our government by corporations and billionaires. Americans deserve free and fair elections — free from the corruption of big money donors. The Supreme Court has effectively legalized bribery. It’s time for an Article 5 convention to take our Democracy back from the brink of Oligarchy.

Let's
Create Medicare For All
More

The United States should catch up to every other modern nation and implement a single-payer, medicare-for-all system. There’s no reason we can’t be #1 in the world instead of #37. It’s time to end the destruction of American healthcare by rapacious, price gouging, for-profit, private health insurance middlemen.

Let's
Create A Just Justice System
More

It's time to end our for-profit criminal justice system by ending prison labor, private prisons and detention centers, cash bail systems, and all the other ways our criminal justice system profits off the vulnerable.

Let's
Create free public higher education
More

In America, every child deserves a chance to succeed. A college education should be a right, not a privilege. Educating the citizenry of a nation pays dividends in the long run, with the economy getting back much more than is initially put in. Crushing student debt for higher education would no longer burden young men and women trying to improve their lives through hard work. We should strive to have the best education system in the world.

Let's
Raise the Minimum Wage
More

This is about justice and basic human decency. If you work hard and you work full time you shouldn’t live in poverty. Furthermore, we support strong unions and collective bargaining.
